Born at Shimla on 8th April 1964, educated from Loreto Convent Shimla and graduated from St. Bede’s College Geeta Kapur has been appointed Director Personal at the SJVN LTD(Central Power sector PSU)
Geeta Kapur recentky took over the charge of the new position from Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director of the Company who had been holding the dual charge since his appointment as CMD in December 2017. It is significant that Geeta Kapur has become the first woman Director of the Company and is one amonst a few in the Central Public Sector who have reached this enviable position. In the field of woman empowerment it is great landmark.
Kapur a MBA (HR) from Himachal Pradesh University joined SJVN (nee NJPC ) as Personnel Officer in 1992.
During the course of her 26 years stint with SJVN, Geeta Kapur has headed various departments of HR. Her significant contributions have been in the field of Policy formation, wage settlements, amalgamation of seconded employees of HPSEB in SJVN, implementation of Balanced Score Card, Recruitment, and establishment.
Prior to joining SJVN, Geeta had a brief stint with Punjab Wireless Limited. She thus bring a long expertise with her and plans to take SJVN Limited to greater heights of success. She believes in implementing the best practices in the industry and pioneering in the field of HR excellence.
Geeta Kapur has a 6 years long path to realise her dreams for excelling the company in every field.
SJVN Limited, a joint venture of the Government of India and the Government of Himachal Pradesh has the pride of implementing and operating the country’s largest 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station in Himachal Pradesh and is in the process of implementing 12 power projects in various parts of India and abroad to add 5000 MW to its existing 2003 MW generating capacity.
