Shimla, Apr 25
Himachal Pradesh High Court on Saturday decided to hear only urgent cases or conduct virtual hearing in all subordinate courts of the state to curtail footfall of people in the Court during sudden rise of Covid pandemic.
A notification issued by the Registrar General of Himachal Pradesh High court Verinder Singh said that in view of alarming rise in Covid cases and in order to minimise the footfall of people, district courts are ordered should take up urgent cases for virtual hearing or physical mode which ever is practicable, till further notice order.
” All districts courts shall remain close on May 1 (Saturday), however filling counters shall remain open” Order further said.
The instructions and standard operating procedure (SOPs) issued in time to time shall remain in operation, he said.
State Government has also decided to keep all offices off on Saturday following five days week to check the pandemic. Even a night curfew has been imposed in four districts of the state.
