After taking away the charge as Director from Vinod Yadaya, in National Institute of technology (NIT) Hamirpur, now a one man committee of the Union HRD ministry led by a senior officer is visiting the institution on Tuesday. The officer sent by the Union government is coming to inquire into the allegations against the former Director, Yadaya confirmed by a senior officer of the institution on Saturday.

Recently a spree of allegations had surfaced on the former director. Firstly Rajinder Rana, the local Congress party MLA had leveled a number of allegations against the former Director. The same was followed by statements on condition of anonymity by even staff members of the institution. Hereafter Union Minister of state for finance cum corporate affairs, Anurag Thakur who is also local MP took up the matter with HRD Minister, Ramesh Pokhriayl Nishank and latest development is result thereof.
It’s worth mentioning here that the financial and administrative powers of the former Director were withdrawn by the management of the institution and had appointed Jalandhar NIT, head, Lalit Awasthy as the Director of the institution till a permanent man is appointed.
Staff members of the institution on condition of anonymity inform that, the new Director had talks with the staff of the institution and has also appointed Yogesh Gupta, one of the senior faculty members as the officiating Registrar of the institution. The management of the institution had also earlier removed Sunil Kumar from the post of the Registrar.
