A veggies supply vehicle driver, resident of Nagwai town of Mandi district, has been found Corona positive in PGI Chandigarh. The 23 year old driver was admitted in PGI on 18 May for leg fracture treatment after an serious accident at Bharatgarh on kiratpur-Chandigarh highway. District administration Mandi now on high alert and have ordered to find out infected person’s direct and indirect contacts immediately.
Deputy commissioner Mandi Rugved Milind Thakur said that we have got information from PGI that one driver of vepggies supply vehicle tested positive for coronavirus during treatment of leg fracture. Patient is resident of Nagwain of Mandi district and had departed for Delhi to get vegetable supply few days back.

Deputy commissioner stated that we are taking all necessary steps. Direct and indirect contacts of positive person are being listed as soon as possible and further precautions will be taken as per covid-19 protocol.
Barring the case of driver which has emerged at PGI Chandigarh, Mandi district has total 12 positive cases and off these 6 are active. Four have been cured and 2 have lost life in the district till date.
