Shimla, May 8
A 14 yrs old girl hailed to Nankhari Tehsil of Shimla district in the state succumbed to snake bite on Thursday ,confirmed police officials.
Superintendent of police OmPati Jamwal said today that victim is identified as Palak Shyam(14yrs) daughter of Sanjay Kumar resident of village Kofardhar and Jahoo, Nankhari of District Shimla.
Victim rushed to primary health centre Kholighat in Nankhari Tehsil at 1518 hrs on Thursday where she succumbed to snake bite during the treatment. Body of the deceased were handed over to the family member of victim at Civil Hospital Nankhari soon after the death.
Due to rising temperature and humid condition the number of snakes coming out from its hibernation in search of rodent prey near the houses and villages of the state. Hundreds of people loose life due to snakes bite in the state every year .
