Himachal Pradesh Government stated on Wednesday that online admissions of 25430 kids has been done in 3840 nursery schools of the state. They said that even the process of appointment for nursery teachers is under consideration.
Stating this, Education Minister Gobind Thakur said in a written reply of a query during the question hour that till Jan 31, 2021 online admission were done for nursery classes in which 28430 kids applied online in 3840 primary schools.
Social Justice & Women empowerment minister Sarveen Chaudhary informed the house that the government is considering converting services of eligible and qualified Aganwari workers and helpers to nursery teachers in Nursery and preschool education.
She said that the Department of Education would amend the Recruitment and Promotion rules to convert their services. She said a task force was made to change the R&P rules. She said that a State Level Task Force under the Chairmanship of Education Minister, Himachal Pradesh has been constituted by the Government on 8-09-2020 for implementation of New Education Policy, 2020. To strengthen the early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE), it would be implemented in a convergence mode by the Department of Education and Directorate of Women and Child Development under Department of Social Justice and Empowerment for which modalities would be finalized by the State Level Task Force.
In another query raised by Surender Shourie of BJP and Rakesh Singha of CPI(M), Minister said that currently there are no proposals under consideration by the Government for closure of Pre-Nursery classes being run in Anganwadi Centers, in view of the New Education Policy.
Replying to another question raised by Ramesh Dhawala Minister said that during Covid pandemic Health Department and Deputy Commissioners used the services of Anganwadi workers and helpers. However the social justice and welfare department did not provide any extra honorarium to them. Besides on query of whether they will be paid extra for the service or not the reply stated that questions did not arise to pay these workers and helpers by the department.
There are a total 18925 Anganwadi Centers and Mini Anganwadi Centers in the State.
