Himachal government on thursday announced an incentive of Rs 6,000 each for sanitation workers in the urban local bodies of the state, keeping in view
their essential services during the ongoing pandemic.
Each sanitation worker in municipal corporations, municipal councils, nagar parishads and nagar panchayats will be provided an incentive of Rs 2,000 per month for the months of April, May and June, the government declared.

CPI(M) Shimla district secretary and former Mayor Sanjay Chauhan condoled the death of SEHAB society worker Sun Kumar on May 11 due to Covid
infection.
BJP councilor of Benmore ward in her fb post recenlty also condoled the death of Sun Kumar who died of Covid recently. Ms Sood said that she feels saddened by the untimely demise of Kumar who wasa dedicted and hard working garbage collector from Benmore ward no 17. She said that Shimla MC has lost a Corona Warrier.
Chauhan said that worker of Sehab society including Kumar was serving in the hard times honesely. He said that State Governemnt should declare the Sehab garbage collectors Corona Warrier . Kumar should be provided Rs 50 lakh compensation to help the affected family as State Government had declared Rs lakh compesnation on the death of Corona Warrior during their death in the pandemic. Chauhan said that Sanitation workers should be provided with PPE kits, face screen, mask and gloves so that they did not become victims of Covid during their duty.
‘Vaccination for 18-44yrs group from May 17’
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said here on Thursday that vaccination for people aged 18 to 44 years in the state would begin on the 17th of this month. It would be provided on a first-come-first-serve basis and people will have to register
themselves for it, he added.
