The state Government has launched a lucrative scheme named as HP (Legacy Cases Resolution), scheme 2019 for those dealers whose assessments have been framed and additional demand/arrears has not been deposited. Also for those whose assessments are pending under the enactments which subsumed in GST Act could avail benefit of this scheme informed Commissioner of State Taxes and Excise Rohan Chand Thakur.
He said that department on Dec 20 recovered an amount of Rs 9.62 Cr from M/s Blue Star Lt. Kala Amb Sirmour under this scheme. The firm had filed an appeal against the provisions of HP Tax entry of Goods into Local Area Act 2010 in the High Court of Himachal Pradesh. The field staff of the district apprised the company of the benefits of the scheme who thereafter withdrew the appeals from the court and deposited the amount .
The department claimed that so far they have recovered Rs 71.69 Cr after launching this scheme as Rs 27.85 Cr was also recovered from one of the firm of Parwanoo. The scheme would continue in force till Jan 21,2021 only, he informed .
