Shimla, July 13
Food Corporation of India, Himachal Pradesh has procured total 13040 MT wheat from the 3258 Farmers of Himachal Pradesh, which is four times high in State even in comparison to previous Rabi Marketing Season (RMS) years. Against this purchase, payment of Rs 25.75 Crore has been made on account of MSP to the farmers within the 24 to 48hrs transferring directly in their accounts through electronic mode, informed a spokesperson from FCI. This achievement has been made even in the extra ordinary situations during the surge of CORONA pandemic.Â
He informed that 28644 MT of wheat and rice i.e. 5kg per person per month for May and June, 2021 had been allocated to Himachal Pradesh under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY).Under this scheme, 16822.95 MT of wheat and 11821.61 MT rice allocated against the month of May, 2021 and June, 2021 which has already been issued to the state government for giving free to the beneficiaries.Â
He added that food grains under regular allocation for July 2021 NFSA and OWS are also being issued timely, which is to be issued by 30 June 2021. Under the PMGKAY from July 2021 to November 2021, 42057.375 MT Wheat and 29554.025 MT of rice have been allocated for HP Region, for which lifting will be started soon
