The Manali leh highway would not be accessible for visitors beyond Jispa after 1600 hours every day. The district administration and Boarder Roads organizations in a joint decision have decided to close down the Manali Leh Highway at Jispa after 1600 hours everyday. The decision has been taken after receiving feedback from commuters about the rough condition of the road around Baralacha pass. As per complaints by commuters that the road is not suitable to be driven in evening or wee hours.
The officials informed that it shall take around a month to improve the condition of the road. They also advised that one should venture on these roads in a 4×4 vehicles preferably. They also advised that during monsoon period the bike riders should particularly avoid going ahead of Jispa on this highway.
After the commissioning of the Atal Rohtang tunnel, a heavy spurt in visitors has been noticed on the Manali Leh highway. The number rose swelled further with the State of H.P relaxing the condition of having a RT-PCR negative report.
