Congress Legislative Party blamed the Jai Ram Thakur Government for diluting the popular subsidised ration scheme during Covid Pandemic as it was launched by former Congress during their rule in the state.
This was stated by the Congress legislative Party leader Mukesh Agnihotri after convening a CLP meeting here today
He alleged that during the meeting party legislators were concerned over an alleged attempt to dilute PDS scheme under which subsidised food grains are being distributed to people of the state.
He said that Government recently decided to reduce food subsidies to APL (Above Poverty line) ration card holders and completely withdraw ration supply through PDS to those who are paying income tax.
He alleged that the Government is creating inflation by working to increase prices of essentials. Besides that state government also did not give any respite to people by waiving off the power water bills and schools fees of students during the pandemic.
Party demanded an audit of funds used by the health department during the Covid pandemic.
Party also sought to launch a probe over the alleged letter bombs in which a former BJP minister belonged to Prem Kumar Dhumal last cabinet was forced to call to police station where a mobile belonging to him was seized .
” We are not interested in the internal politics of BJP however the allegations leveled in the letter bomb should be probed ” he said .
” People of the state also want to know about the circumstances and reasons as former health Minister Vipin Singh Parmar (who is speaker of Vidhan Sabha now) was shuffled from the Jai Ram cabinet before appointment of Bindal as party chief.
Agnihotri asked the government to explain internal compulsion of BJP to take back the cabinet berth of Parmar. He said that report which was submitted by the Chief Minister Jai Ram thakur to PMO before taking the cabinet berth of Parmar should also be made public.
He demanded that the Government should disclose about the amount collected from the people or handed over to state by the centre during during the Covid pandemic.
