Opposition Congress members on Tuesday staged a walkout from the state Assembly protesting against the decision of the Chair for allowing discussion in the House.
As the Speaker Vipin Singh Parmar allowed the Health and Family Welfare Minister Rajiv Sehjal to give a reply of the Covid-19 situation under rule 67 and Congress party said that after the minister a member of Congress should be allowed to say patty’s viewpoint on the issue.
Leader of Opposition Mukesh Agnihotri said that since the Minister to participate in discussion, one of opposition members should be allowed to speak, extending the time of session after 1700 hrs. But it was not accepted by the speaker.
The house was discussing on the prevailing Covid-19 situation under rule 67 which was started on Monday.
Giving reply on the discussion Health Minister said that FIR has been lodged in the purchase of health department on the basis of State Vigilance probe. He said that Health Department Director has been arrested and booked along with others involved in the state.
He said that the probe has been completed and the vigilance was preparing the chargesheet to challen it in the court. He said that the cases have nothing to do with departmental purchases, however the government is adopting transparency in the matter.
Parliamentary affairs minister Suresh Bhardwaj condemned the opposition walk out from the house . He said that when leader of house Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur and Speaker Vipin Singh was on the chair the opposition went out of house without announcing that they staged a walkout .
The house was adjourned at 1718 hrs for the day in absence of opposition by the Speaker, stating that discussion on the would continue tomorrow at 1100 and the Chief Minister would give a reply over the discussion which has lasted for two days.
