Shimla, Dec 31
Himachal Pradesh High Court today vacated the stay on the recruitment of Junior Office Assistant by the Staff Selection Commission Hamirpur. The court had earlier reserved the verdict in the matter.
The order is likely to give respite as many as 18000 to 19000 students who have appeared in the JOA written tests and qualified. They now would have to appear for the type tests.
The candidates who had appeared in similar test before the 2020 recruitment had challenged the appointment in the Himachal Pradesh High Court and the matter was pending after having the stay.
The SSC was appointing JOA for post code 817, 447 and 556 of Staff Selection Commission. The court found the process of recruitment justified and the HC ordered today to streamline the recruitment process, ahead.
About thousands of candidates who had appeared under the above postcodes on March 21 2020 and the typing tests scheduled to be held in the month of July were stayed as some of the candidates who had appeared for 500 posts of JAC in 2016 were challenged in this process of appointment.
The SSC had recently declared the results of earlier JOA examination and conducted the recruitment, the sources in SSC confirmed.
