Himachal plans mobile app for electric vehicles charging payouts
Shimla, Feb 5
Speculations are that the Himachal Pradesh Government is set to launch a mobile app for electric vehicle charging payments, allowing residents and tourists to conveniently pay fees through their phones.
Recently the Transport Department has established 17 charging stations at petrol pumps, with 6 green corridors underway. The first corridor, Kiratpur-Bilaspur-Mandi-Kullu-Manali-Keylong, is operational with 7 charging stations.
The app will enable users to locate stations, book stalls in advance, and access information on ports, load, and fees. Payment options may include UPI, net banking, and debit/credit cards. The state plans to establish 45 EV charging stations across the green corridors in collaboration with Ropeway and Rapid Transport System Development Corporation.
The corridors include Parwanoo-Nalagarh-Una-Hamirpur-Dehra-Amb-Mubarikpur-Sansarpur-Terrace-Noorpur, Parwanoo-Solan-Shimla-Rampur-Rekong Peo-Pooh-Tabo-Kaja-Losar, Paonta-Nahan-Solan-Shimla, Shimla-Bilaspur-Hamirpur-Kangra-Nurpur-Banikhet-Chamba, and Mandi-Jogindernagar-Palampur-Dharamshala-Kangra-Pathankot.
As per information the app may promise a streamlined experience for electric vehicle owners, contributing to the state’s sustainable transportation initiatives.
