According to the new notification, posts such as Driver, Peon, and other Class-IV employees, as well as certain Class-III ministerial staff previously excluded, will now fall under the State Cadre. This change is expected to improve service conditions and bring uniformity to administrative functions across the state.
Moreover, the government has extended this move to include all Class-III and Class-IV ministerial cadre positions at crucial divisional and station offices. Key offices affected by this decision include Divisional Commissioners’ Offices in Shimla, Mandi, and Kangra, Settlement Offices in Kangra and Shimla, Directorate of Land Records, Shimla, Revenue Training Institute, Jogindernagar, Mandi and Directorate of Consolidation of Holding, Shimla (Dying Cadre).
With the restructuring in place, the Director of Land Records, Himachal Pradesh, will assume the role of the Cadre Controlling Authority for the newly added posts, ensuring effective oversight and coordination.
The government has reassured that matters concerning service-related issues and other administrative aspects will be finalized separately. This move is part of the state’s broader efforts to enhance governance efficiency and streamline human resource management within the Revenue Department.
Onkar Chand Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary-cum-Financial Commissioner (Revenue), Government of Himachal Pradesh, formalized this decision.
