Shimla, Oct 14
With Ramlal Markanda, Minister of Information Technology and Tribal Welfare having been tested positive for novel CoronaVirus on Wednesday, more than 40 percent of the cabinet in the state have been infected.
Ram Lal was also part of the Rohtang tunnel Commissioning ceremony on Oct 3 from where other cabinet ministers and government officials Including Chief Minister, MLA Surinder Shourie, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister R Bhatta and Public Relation Department officials were tested positive.
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur was tested positive for the COVID on Monday and currently is in isolation also tweeted that positive confirmation of Markanda is cause of concern.
Banjar MLA Surender Shourie was tested positive on Oct 2.On October 6, Thakur’s principal private secretary RN Batta also tested positive for the disease and the On October 7, Urban Development Minister Suresh Bhardwaj was tested positive and Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur tested positive on October 12.
Earlier to this IPH Minister Mohinder Singh Thakur, Power Minister Sukhu Ram Chaudhary was also tested positive for COVID.
Party Rajaya Sabha member Indu Goswamy, BJP MLA from Doon Paramjeet Pami, party MLA from Indora, Aneeta Dhiman and BJP Legislator from Sundernagar Rakesh Jamwal are also contracted by the virus in the state.
The total case tally in Himachal Pradesh currently stands at 17800 including 2500 active cases, 14900 recoveries and 250 deaths.
