Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said today that no member of his cabinet would tender resignation as the government’s efforts to handle the Covid situation was appreciated on the national level.
Intervening in the discussion on Opposition motion under rule 67, Thakur said that the state could not deny the role played by the government to handle the pandemic however opposition remained busy in trying to get the advantage to play politics in the entire span.
CM said that he has great respect Rajiv Bindal who set a tradition by quitting the BJP top post on high moral grounds after the PPE kit controversy. He said that Opposition which has no issue after Bindal quit started demanding his (CM) resignation ) for which he could not yield to obvious reasons.
Thakur said that the Leader of Opposition was trying to blow the Covid situation out of proportion to get political gain over people’s vagaries which his government would not allow. Chief Minister said that during two years of Congress rule 1900 people also committed suicide but members are trying to create impression by raising the suicide issue
as many thousands of people have taken the extreme step.
He said that the state Government is taking step to check the Covid infections however this government is appreciated compared to the spike in cases of pandemic in many other states.
