Shimla, Nov 2
Post monsoon rainfall in the month of October was negligible as state received just 0.4 millimetres rainfall or precipitation in last month , a monthly weather report released by the meteorological centre here revealed.
The Director Met Office Shimla Manmohan Singh said that state recorded 99 percent deficient rainfall compared to normal.
There were only two spells of precipitation (rain or snow) in the last three days of the month, when the Lahaul valley, Manali and parts of Chamba received some rain and snow.
The Kinner Kailash mountain range in Kinnaur also recieved snowfall on October 22, the report said.
The precipitation in October was the second lowest in the last 17 years after October of 2017 when the state had received 0.3 millimetres of precipitation. In the October of 2004, Himachal recorded 93 milllimetres of rain and snow, more than double the normal amount.
Since then, the state recorded deficient or scanty rainfall in every October, the report added.
