MoS Finance and Corporate Affairs, Anurag Thakur has announced that Rs 740.79 crore have been approved for setting up of Central University campuses in Dehra which is part of Hamirpur Parliamentary Constituency and Dharamshala in Kangra District.
Thakur expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi while informing that explained, “Rs 740.70. he Finance Ministry as approved Rs 512.37 crore as non recurring expenditure and Rs 210.55 crore as recurring expenditure; this also includes Rs 17.87 crore expenditure made till 2019-20. We are seeing how the double of engine of central and state governments in the education sector is pushing Himachal to a new frontier in the education sector to meet the demands of the 4th industrial revolution.”
Stating this, Anurag Thakur said, “Since 2010 I’ve been committed towards providing educational facilities to students of the state and pursued the establishment of CU in Himachal Pradesh. Students will get world class higher education facilities without leaving the state.
Thakur said, “the approval of grants for Central University will boost the education sector in Himachal Pradesh. In fact students will also benefit from the National Education Policy we announced recently which is expanding education sector and is also empowering India’s youth to become ‘Future Ready’. Our aim is to make India the worlds largest skilled workforce and Himachals talented youth has a major role to play. Himachals youth has the potential to be leading experts, academics, scientists, engineers, CEOs and Advisors.”
