A office bearer of ruling BJP in the state has lodged FIR against noted Indian veteran Journalist Vinod Dua charging him for sedition. In a press statement issued by the Media Officer and Superintendent of Police Dr Khushal Sharma at State police headquarter stated that Ajay Shyam resident of Kiara of Theog Tehsil in district Shimla filed a complaint against Dua charging him under sec 124A, 268, 501 505 of IPC. Dua’s famous one line shows are telecast on HW Network.
The police spokesperson stated that notice was served to Dua under section 160 of Cr PC through e-mail on Jun 11, 2020 . Notice seeks his physical appearance by June 12 i.e today morning to Station House Officer of Police Station Kumarsain for investigation in the above mentioned case.
However in the morning today , State Police today received a reply of the notice from Dua in which he has shown his inability to visit Police Station Kumarsain due to his health issues , old age (he is 66 yrs old) and the Covid -19 protocol for travel and quarantine. However Dua has agreed to join investigation through e-mail or any other online mechanism, he added .
It is worthwhile to mentioned here that earlier to this similar FIR was also filed against Dua based on the complaints of BJP spokesperson Naveen Kumar, accusing Veteran Journo for spreading “Fake News” and inciting communal violence. Dua who was known for his professional excellence in field of journalism succeeded to secure anticipatory bail from the
Saket Session court on Wednesday subsequently Delhi HC also stayed the FIR yesterday.
