A Case vide FIR No. 20/2020 u/s 124 A, 153 A, 504, 505 IPC was registered in Police Station Crime Branch, CID Shimla on 20.06.2020 after complaint of Narender Guleria alleging posting of various anti- national & objectionable material on the social media by Neeraj Bharti former MLA due to which the arrest was made stated a police spokesperson. Adding that Bharti was summoned to Crime branch Shimla for examination, wherein after three days of examination, he was arrested today, informed Kushal Sharma, the police spokesperson.
” The complainant had alleged that Bharti who is son of former Minister and former MP Chander Kumar had uploaded four posts on social media with intent to create hatred against the government, by making seditious comments, demeaned, defamed and spread enmity against the government.

The FIR had also alleged that the social media posts are an attempt for provocation of people and Indian Armed forces. In the post Bharti has blamed the Government for deliberately getting the soldiers killed. The post is an attempt to create agitation and anger among the commoners by indulging in such rumour mongering against the Government, said the complaint while blaming the Congress leader.

The complaint had also submitted four clipping of social media post of MLA in which Bharti had alleged that on the analogy of Pulwama, Indian Army’s Bihar Regiment was deliberately deployed and thus forced to get killed, to entice nationalist emotion for upcoming Bihar polls.
